By chance, I was once (just) able to buy a house in a wealthy area, and now I have moved to an area where houses are very much cheaper. This is good (except I’ll never be able to go back)
But, it gives me an unusual challenge (in my life at least) - I have money in the bank, and I don’t know what to do with it – I don’t want to do harm, so it needs to be used in an ethical way, and it needs to be safe – the money I have now needs to last me for life
I’d welcome suggestions about what to do with it.
I think I will set up some budgets –
- setting up my new house – equipment I need, improvements
- ? something risky – trying day trading ?
but the remainder will need to be invested and safe. What can I best do ? I must be as safe and as ethical as possible !
(There are lots of theoretical discussions about money, but ultimately the world economy derives from the some total of all our actions, so I think this discussion of me as “guinea pig” is very relevant to bring it all to a personal level – I think it’s a common problem – debatably the world is awash with money that people don’t have a clear purpose for, and this causes many problems of inflation and distorted markets, plus overheating ……)
